WHEN I CAN GET THE SETTEE TO MYSELF

I was wondering if all dogs sleep like this....

I've been a naughty boy

I got bored with being in the garden and decided to go for a walk down the lane - so no special treats for me today!

I never thought it would be possible

Here I am sitting on the settee! Yes, I finally got to sit here(OK, when there's a cover on it). I achieved this in steps - first the kids let me sit with them when my mistress wasn't around. Then one day she caught us! So I tried asking permission and finally she gave in. Now I can sit on the settee whenever I want (even with muddy paws!). This was achieved in 2009 and I am setting new goals for 2010!

A Dog Whisperer's Advice

My mistress has just seen an American Dog Whisperer on TV. Now he advised viewers not to adopt dogs because they feel sorry for them. Lucky my mistress hadn't seen that programme before coming to the rescue shelter then! And he said that it is important to adopt a dog with the same energy level as yourself. My mistress says I'm a medium-to-high energy level dog, whereas she is a low-to-medium energy person! So we're now both busy trying to adapt our energy levels to each other. It's interesting!

I'm Learning Fast

Last night I was caught with my head in the oven. The door was ajar and something smelt good in there. I could tell from the way my mistress yelled at me that this was not a place I should be, or a plate I should be licking. When she has that look on her face and starts yelling I've learned that the safest place for me to be is in my kennel!
