It was after one of these stunts that my mistress called up the shelter and said she wanted to bring me back! She was hysterical! How was I to know that was her favorite Laura Ashley cushion? They told her to be patient with me and persevere..... Each time I destroyed something (5 pairs of shoes, one sunbed mattress, a curtain, a cashmere shawl, two cushions...and that was only in the first 2 weeks) she'd call the shelter and say she couldn't take any more! Finally they told her that the shelter was full, and that they couldn't take me back even if they wanted to (which they obviously didn't, as I was a sickly dog).
